"Like a lot writers I am an introvert, but I'm also a bit of an agoraphobic. I finished my first novel at 23, but I didn't bother to publish it until 6 years later, and I went straight to self publishing instead of attempting traditional publishing first. I figured this way I could take everything slowly and at my own pace of comfort. I e-published first and didn't really promote my books until a year later, and then waited another year before I published physical copies.
Publishing and then promoting my books with all the social networking you must do with it has definitely helped me get out of my shell. I always write all my stories for me, and it took a while to be comfortable enough to share my books with the world, but I'm glad I did." ~ Jen |
